We are often looking for methodologies, even medications, that relieve the tensions in our body, and yet the bodily tensions are often an expression of the tightness of the mind. By practicing breath awareness in meditation, the tension of the mind naturally is released, and the body as well as the mind remembers the relaxed condition. There are times when tension is necessary and useful and there are other times when the conscious use of relaxation is equally important.
